This project was given to me in my photography class.
Objective: Using a photograph of yourself create a self portrait, any medium is aloud.
This project was inspired by Wedha Abdul Rashid who created the style WPAP, inspired by Andy Warhol and pop art. I used a photograph that I clearly shows my face. In class, my classmates already started to say, before I had even started, ” Nina, you have to make yours colorful, that is so you.”. So off I went searching for inspiration, luckily a couple of months before I had found WPAP, and was eager to try the style out for myself. I found this to be the perfect project to experiment and work in a different style that I am used to. I thought the work in illustrator would take me hours to do, but instead I found the work to be enjoyable and fast paced.
With this project I have come to realize how much I have grown over the years in my understanding of the Adobe Suite programs. What used to take me hours to do in illustrator only takes a couple of clicks now. A shout out goes to Von Glitschka and all his wonderful Lyda courses and books, I owe him a lot. Thanks to his classes, I have been able to grow and start to create my own style of artwork.
